Grow, Harvest & Process Industry School Tours
The Grow, Harvest and Process School Tours aim to provide senior students with first-hand insight into the working environment of three sectors of the forest and timber industry supply chain, and give an understanding of the vocational education requirements, apprenticeships, traineeships and career opportunities available in each area.

Grow, Harvest & Process Industry Work Experience
The Grow, Harvest and Process Work Experience Program is a 3 course, 5 day, 5 hours a day program which has been developed to introduce senior students to potential career paths within the forestry and timber industry.

Cutting Edge Program
The Cutting Edge Timber Program provides job candidates with pre-employment screening interviews and medical checks followed by a timber industry focused training program.

ForestSkills Program
The ForestSkills Program is a pilot digital micro credentials system allowing training to be delivered onsite, maintaining productivity and responding to site and machinery specific requirements. Micro credential systems allow targeted training to meet employer and industry specific needs.

Job & Career Expos
The Canopy Team will be attending Jobs and Careers expos across Wide Bay and Moreton Bay regions.

A Timber Queensland Growth Scholarship offers funding to Queensland based forest and timber industry professionals and workers who are in their early or mid career years.
​
Growth Scholarships facilitate access to learning experiences and opportunities that will foster a passion for working in the forest and timber industry and enhance career pathways.
​
Applications for the 2024-2025 will open on 2 April 2024 and close on 30 June 2024.
Upskill your Team with Fee-Free Tafe
Make the most of current fee-free TAFE training to have one of your employees in specialised skills and knowledge to design, develop, deliver and assess vocational training courses.
The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is offered in person and online and is currently being offered fee-free based on advise provided by industry.
To be eligible for fee-free TAFE funding, you must be:

an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency
-
a Queensland resident
-
no longer at school
-
not currently enrolled in training

This program will enhance industry expertise, and provide the educational skills needed to deliver vocational education training to the sector.
